With his third untitled album near completion, Ky-mani Marley is definitely a star for himself. On February 26, 1976 Ky-mani Marley was born to famous Robert Nesta Marley and Jamaican table tennis champion Anita Belnavis, in Falmouth, Jamaica. Ky-mani refers to an East African term meaning adventurous travelers, and as an individual living in the spirit of his name, each album or travel will be an exciting one. His journey into music started in 1999 with The Journey. The artist was a multifaceted one that was looking for his own musical niche. As of 2001 Many More Roads (Grammy-nominated), a "traditional" reggae album , was released exposing a more mature Ky-mani. The Journey as well as Many More Roads were well accepted throughout the world, which established Ky-Mani's place as an individual "artist". Ky-Mani's musical style is one of reggae roots, layered along with hip hop, R&B as well as contemporary jazz.
